Karibu – Welcome to Pongwe Eco Lodge – the nature loving people and animals´ hiden paradise.

Tucked just few hundreds meters from beautiful and quiet beach at Pongwe on eastern coast of Zanzibar Island there is a lovely, florishing, calm garden, full of trees, plants, animals and friendly atmosphere.

If you like to spend a holiday on this amazing island but you are not the “resort type of traveler” and above it you are a nature lover, this is the perfect spot for you.

We are offering short or long term accomodation in the free standing local style built, fully equiped bunalows. 

As one of our activity, besides growing our own fruits and vegetables, is helping to an abandoned and neglected animals, particularly cats, you are very likely to be on your stay most of the time accompanied by some of our cats, living in the garden. There is nine of them at the moment, they are all healthy, fully vacinated, well cared for and friendly.
